HEllo everyone!
I need help!
I have been on the slimming world diet for nearly a month or even over (the old slimming world book) but i havent lost any thing, the opposite happens I put weight on! espacially when I am on a green day!
I feel terrible.
Does anyone know what couldl be happening? Does anyone experience the same? I am really at my wits ends with this.
It will be soooo interesting to read through the forums here and see some good ideas. So much to read! If anyone can send me into the 'right' direction on where to look I would really appriciate it

One step at a time, and i'll get there.

I'll go for half a stone at a time. And when I lose 10% of my body weight I will be sooooooo happy

Can I just ask what book it is you're using? Ingredients in products change over the years, and things that may once have been free may no longer be.

Have a look at the sample food diary layout in the Food Diaries forum and feel free to start one for yourself hunny...you'll always get constructive feedback!

Hello everyone and thank you for your warm welcome
I will start a food diary. Hope I will foind it!

I have started the diet again today and this far I have eaten...415 gramm (one tin) of baxters scotch broth, 42 gr of kellogs bran (so those were my two out of the B section) and 250 ml soya milk (unsweetened)

For lunch I had fish (cooked in water without oil) plus onions peas and coarrots

thats all i had so far... Sigh :(

i really hope i will lose some weight this time nd not gain any.

Oh im not so sure about the syns because i have never eaten any syns each day, i left them for the weekend and then had a few drinks.
should i eat syns every day? and now many? it says up to 15 but are 10 syns ok too?
I will look for the food diary forum and will write it down again
thank you all so much for your help

by the way the book i am using is the 'old' one not the newest one. I think it was out before the newest one

what year is your book? should say somewhere.
if youre saving all your syns till the weekend, its ok to do but not often.
its called flexible syns, where you use more syns than you would on a normal day and cut back on the other days.
the guide is 5-15 syns per day, i usually aim for 10 so i could be a bit over or under.
if thats all youve had by nearly 4pm id say youre not eating enough, are you still hungry?
eat lots of free food to fill yourself.
oh what day were you doing? i assume red as you used up your he's then had fish later. dont be scared of using oil to cook things in, fry light is great- its free.
fish taste better in milk or you could add loads of herbs, spices or even a squeeze of lemon will make it so much nicer.

keep a food diary, theres a sample layout in the section.
just follow that so others can pick out things easily.
theyre great at letting you know how youre doing. thumbs up

i bet itll soon start coming off for you

I agree with what's been said before.I t really seems like you're not eating enough!Also I know that some people seem to maintain/lose slowly when they have a lot of green days (though others swear by them!),maybe do more green?When you say 'old book' you need to be more precise.Maybe you could join a class again and get the lastest edition of the handbook?

i have started a food diary and hope i will get some feedback on wher ei go wrong. i really need to lose some weight! i comfort eat alot lately and its just getting too much!
i used to comfort eat on pasta on a green day but i put on weight, maybe i did something wrong but i ratheer stick with red days now. i feel really blowted on green days.
thank you so much for all your advice everybody. there is sooo much to learn here and my concentration is not that good so I have to take it really slowly.

Thank you so much for your MSN addy but I am a little shy when it come sto talking...but am getting there heehee...

Hmm I am not sure hwat the Mag is? A magazine? Sorry for being so thick!
I got into SW through a friend and she gave me her old book. So I am not going to meetings (shyness ! thumbs down ) So if ther eis a way to get the info for the 7 day plan I am really ready to do it lol !
I have started a food diary and already found some mistakes I had made.
It sucks but at least I know now what to lok out for. This forum and everyone on here is such a great help!

I am shy when it comes to face to face trust me

Nip to your local New Agents and ask for the SLIMMING WORLD Mag its brilliant, loads of recipys and storys and new things they find in the shop, and tells you if they are free or have syn's

I'd be lost without, i have loads, and when i feel like i am slipping i read the storys....

Hi Mia, welcomeani I've just read through this thread. It seems to me that you are not eating enough, as the others have already said. I was the same when I first started. I've learned a lot being on this site, I have had a few weeks of maintains now but its my own fault because I havn't been able to get back on the wagon after my holiday but i'm determined to loose at least another stone and I know this is the way to do it. With what i've been eating i've been really lucky not to have gained.

You need to use as many free foods as possible, if you can you should invest in a 'free foods' book, I got all of my books from ebay. You will be surprised how much you can eat and still loose weight. I am having a red day tomorrow and although I havn't worked a diary out yet I will probably be having bacon, eggs, tomato, mushrooms and 2 slices wholemeal warburtons toast as a HE B. I use frylight for cooking this but it does tend to burn the pan, you can always use up some of your syns on a spoon of oil. (olive)
I'll probably have some fruit mid morning, chicken drumsticks and salad for lunch, maybe an Alpen bar in the afternoon and some more fruit, then perhaps a small jkt spud as my second HEB with probably pork loin steaks (fat cut off) and veg, syn gravy. Don't be afraid to use your syns, you may find you might need them to loose weight, I know I do.
Basically everyone is different, some loose more on red days some on green, you just have to find the balance that is right for you.

Shezzar thank you fo rthe advice! I think you are right, I have always thopught the less I eat (espacially syns) the more or quicker I will lose; I think I NEED to eat my syns to lose weight!
I have found that if I went out the weekend, after I had saved all my syns, I woke up the next day feeling a lot better . Like I had lost a few pounds while asleep lol. Sounds crazy but I cant help feeling that the syns had something to do with it.
Will def. eat my syns every day now!

Am feeling like binging on choclate right now and think I already had all my sysn for today so I better just go to bed instead lol
